Mortgage Rates Climb Higher
Mortgage rates were on their way up this week, Jan 25, 2013, with the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage moving to its highest reading since Sept. 29, 2012, Freddie Mac reports in its weekly mortgage market survey. The homeownership rate in the South was lower than the corresponding fourth quarter 2011 rate, while the rates in the Northeast, Midwest, and West were not statistically different from the rates a year ago.
